While poker runs are popular throughout the country, no one does it quite like the Emerald Coast. Nicknamed “The Big One”, the 26th Annual Emerald Coast Poker Run will take place August 8 to August 12. What makes the poker run so unique is that unlike most, it takes place completely on the water. All proceeds from this year’s run will benefit the Emerald Coast Foundation. To date the Emerald Coast Foundation has raised over $2.5 million dollars for local kids in need.
Will this be your first time attending the Emerald Coast Poker Run? Here are all the details on how it works!
The Original Emerald Coast Poker Run
Calling all powerboats, fishing boats, and pleasure boats, the Emerald Coast Poker Run will take place from August 8 to August 12. Help fill the waterways and take part in this year’s poker run. One of the largest and most popular charity poker runs in the country, “The Big One” has filled the waterways of Fort Walton Beach for the last 25 years.
What Is A Poker Run?
Poker Runs on the water are much like the ones on dry land, only a lot more fun. Instead of motorcycles taking off, boats of all shapes and size will race to these 11 checkpoints. The boats will receive a poker card at each stop, as well as some amazing live entertainment. Once the ride is over, the boat with the best poker hand will win!
This year’s stops feature some of the most popular spots in all of Fort Walton Beach. From AJ’s on the Bayou to The Gulf On Okaloosa Island, enjoy one of the Emerald Coast’s most popular events. “The Big One” will take place on Saturday, August 11, but if you’re interested in taking part in a smaller race, the “Gulf to Gulf” run will take place Friday, August 10. This year’s poker run competitors will all be competing for a 2018 Softail Deluxe Motorcycle.

Week Long Fun
The fun doesn’t start and finish with the poker run, there are events going on all week long. The party kicks off on Wednesday, August 8 with the Blues, Brews, and BBQ party at AJ’s on the Bayou. After the “Gulf to Gulf” Poker Run on Friday, don’t miss the Rockin’ the Docks Captains Party. Finally, after “The Big One”, enjoy the Emerald Coast Poker Run Party. This year’s event will be located at the Emerald Coast Convention Center and will feature poker, blackjack, a silent auction and much more!
You don’t need a boat to enjoy the Emerald Coast Poker Run, but you will need a car, truck, or SUV to get you and your whole family there in comfort. Arrive in style when you visit Lee Nissan of Fort Walton Beach!
