Living on the coast, you’ll find no shortage of festivals and events to attend. Many revolve around music, food, and drinks, but few are truly distinct. When you do find one that stands out, you’ll want to make sure that it makes it onto your calendar. This summer, we have just the event.
Ready your sea legs and guard ye booty for Fort Walton Beach’s favorite June festival. The Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival returns to the Fort Walton Beach Landing, and we have all the information you need to experience one unforgettable event.
Calling All Sea and Landlubbers
The month of June kicks off with a weekend full of piratey activities. On Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2, enjoy two days of the Pirate Festival. Then, on Monday, June 4, come back to experience the Torchlight Parade. The events will be held at the FWB Landing.
Goods, Grub, n’ Sea Tunes
There will be plenty of pirate tunes to keep you entertained at the festival. Both nights, hear Captain Davy, Kirby Jake and the Bucket. Exclusive to Friday night, the TBAs will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. and will play up until the fireworks show. On Saturday, enjoy music from the Good Lookings at the main stage from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
If you come hungry, which we definitely recommend, you’ll find something for everyone at the food vendors. There will be cooks serving everything from ice cream to seafood to skewered meats.
Make sure to browse the Pirates Village and check out the wares they have for sale. You’ll find glass art, clothing, jewelry, trinkets, and much more.
For the Wee Ones
Kids will have an exceptionally good time at the Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival. For $15 a day, they can get a wristband allowing for unlimited access to the rock climbing wall, Euro bungee, and seven interactive inflatables. There will also be an assortment of carnival-style activities available for kids and adults alike.
Torchlight Parade
The parade will feature nearly 100 floats, boats, vessels, and marching units, including Krewes and the must-see Billy Bowlegs Pirates.
This June 4 parade will begin at the corner of Eglin Parkway and 1st Street, then continue north on Eglin Parkway.
