This year, St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Saturday. This means, whether you typically celebrate the holiday or not, there’s no better time to don your green and grab an ale.
Read on to find out more about the annual 30A St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival. This is an event you won’t want to miss!
30A St. Patrick’s Parade
The parade and festival take place on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Festivities start at 2 p.m. with the parade. This event is free to attend, and it’s sure to draw a crowd. Come a little early to find your place along the street and make sure you can see the parade in its full glory.
St. Patrick’s Festival
After the parade, you can join the festival at Arnett’s Farm and Stables, located 1/2 mile from the parade end.
At 3 p.m., the festival begins with opening ceremonies, color guard performances, and the singing of the National Anthem by REDD. While the parade is free, the festival does require an admission ticket. For kids 5–16, tickets cost $5. Adults cost $10.
You’ll get your money’s worth at this festival, however. Guests will enjoy Irish dancing, Celtic band performances, competitions like “best redhead,” and unparalleled people-watching.
There will also be everyone’s favorite – green beer. In addition, food vendors will be stationed all around the festival. Kids and adults alike will enjoy face painting and games. There are also kid-specific activities like the Kids Zone Games and giant slides to play on.
If you’re having a blast at the St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival, consider buying one of the event’s signature T-shirts. On the front, the shirts feature a leprechaun rendition with the phrase “Irish You Were Beer.” On the back, you’ll find sponsor logos from the organizations that help make this event possible.
Bring Your Pooch
If you’ve got a pup, there’s no reason to leave it at home for this festival. In fact, pets are one of the coolest parts of the St. Patrick’s Day festival. People are known to dress up their four-legged friends with all kinds of costumes, accessories, and even green dye. During the festival, there will be an award given to the best-dressed pet – so get creative!
