More on the Driver’s Choice Awards

The winners of the Driver’s Choice Awards were announced in February at the Chicago Auto Show. This is when we learned that the all-new Titan XD took home the honor for the Best Pickup Truck and the Maxima won for the Best Sport Sedan. The awards are designed to recognize the top models in numerous categories, spanning luxury and family vehicles as well as body styles. The annual awards began in 1983 with the goal of reflecting the buying trends of consumers. They look at technology, dollar value, practicality, driving experience, and superior performance.

Praise for the Nissan Models

When announcing the winners of the Driver’s Choice Awards, John Davis, MotorWeek’s executive producer and host, said that the Titan XD lives up to its claim of being a heavier-duty variation of the classic Titan. He also mentioned that the truck is all-new and has dramatically improved capabilities. Davis called the Maxima among the most “stimulating sedans” he’s seen in years with a radical design. He was also very impressed with its ability to perform at the top of its class of sport sedans even with features not typically found in this segment, like a CVT and front-wheel drive.
