This Weekend’s Chili Cook-off

From noon to 4 p.m., HarborWalk Village will come alive with the festival. You’ll get to experience and taste chili from more than 20 different restaurants and chili masters.
Now is the time to get tickets. Early-bird and military pricing is $15 per person, while general admission is $20. In fact, HarborWalk Village is giving away two tickets every day leading up to the event. You can enter for your chance to win here. Make sure to check back each day to enter again and up your chances of winning free admission to the Chili Cook-off.
Chili Tasting Tips
Traditionally, chili cook-offs are judged based on five categories: aroma, color, consistency, taste, and aftertaste. While you may not be on the official judging panel, you can still use these criteria to decide for yourself who deserves the gold. Just make sure to let your chili cool a little before you taste – nothing ruins a tasting like a burnt tongue!
The Arc of the Emerald Coast
This year, proceeds from the cook-off will benefit the Arc of the Emerald Coast. This chapter is a part of the Arc of the United States, which is the world’s largest grassroots advocacy organization for citizens of all ages with cognitive, intellectual, and developmental disabilities and their families. By attending the Parrot Head Chili Cook-off, you’ll be able to make great memories and contribute to a great cause. The mission of the Arc of Emerald Coast is about “empowering those with developmental disabilities to live meaningful lives.” Now, that sounds like a cause everyone can get behind.
