The new 2017 Nissan Armada more closely resembles the Nissan Patrol offered in other countries. This luxurious full-size SUV is ready for nearly anything. If you are familiar with the premium Infiniti QX80, then you already have an idea of the overall structure and platform of the 2017 Armada. However, there are numerous differences.
Styling of the 2017 Nissan Armada
Experts point out that the differences between the 2017 Nissan Armada and the platform-sharing Infiniti QX80 are most obvious in the front. Here, you will see a familiar Nissan face as opposed to that found on the Infiniti. The vent on the driver’s side is functional, so the chrome fender trim remains but with a function. The excellent construction allows the Armada to go off-road, as well.
The Armada’s Luxurious Interior
Inside the Armada, you will almost feel as if you are in the Infiniti if you opt for the right trim. There are almost no hard plastics. Instead, you find padded surfaces everywhere you turn, a striking improvement over the previous Armada.
The list of standard features is extensive, with even the entry-level Armada SV including dual power seats, a rearview camera, 13 speakers of Bose sound, and navigation. Higher trims throw in leather, power adjustment for the third row, 20-inch wheels, a power liftgate, and ventilated and heated front seats. Your Armada also can have heated second-row seats, dual rear-seat entertainment, a sunroof, and plenty of driver assistive technologies.
Interior Space inside the Nissan Armada
The 2017 Armada remains spacious, although it has shrunk slightly from the previous version. Of course, experts admit that much of the previous interior space was wasted, so this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. When you are driving, you will appreciate that the new Armada doesn’t feel as overwhelming large, and you get better sightlines. The second row has gotten a bit narrow but is still spacious in terms of legroom and headroom. However, the third row is a bit more cramped, losing about 3 inches in shoulder room and nearly 4 in legroom. Children can still easily fit three across.
Keep in mind that the cargo space has also shrunk slightly, although there is still more than enough. Of course, if you ever need extra space, you can take advantage of the Armada’s impressive 8,500-pound towing capacity.
