Nissan Altima

The Nissan Altima

In 1998 Nissan introduced the Altima to the market with a completely reinvented identity. The vehicle included a new interior and exterior style, as well as more standard equipment like a CD player. The following year two new body colors were introduced and some light trim adjustments were made. These slight changes are typical of many vehicles that experience a complete design makeover the previous year. In 2000 a newly designed Altima with an updated front and rear, smoother suspension and upgraded engine dominated the market.

While nothing significant was changed for 2001, a new model was released in 2002. The new model had an improved body shape, and optional 240 horsepower engine, improved new four-wheel suspension and several user-friendly technology upgrades. No major changes were made for 2003 or 2004 models except lowered emission levels and a few new body colors.

Steady Progress

The 2005 Altima included a new exterior sleek style, and improved smoked headlamps, new taillights, and redesigned wheels. The engine offered five more horsepower and some slight upgrades in trim levels. Very few changes were made to the Altima in 2006, but 2007 included a powerful V6 engine that could make 270 horsepower with a variable transmission and a larger and upgraded cabin space.

A new front fascia and standard stability control were offered for 2010 Altima, as well as a new sound system and rejuvenated GPS system. The 2010 model also added Bluetooth and iPod features. In 2013 an all-new and even more advanced model was introduced, offering improved fuel economy, higher quality materials, a new suspension system, and even better steering.

The 2018 Altima

The 2018 Nissan Altima shows just how far the Altima has come since 1998 and gives a look into the future of it. The 2018 model comes with automatic emergency braking, intelligent cruise control, and a rear cross traffic alert.

Inside, the 2018 Altima comes with Nissan Intelligent Mobility, making it easy to stay in touch with the world around you. The Bose Premium Audio System and  Nissan Advanced Drive-Assist Display gives Altima drivers the best driving experience possible.
