Christmas time in Florida is a wonderful sight. The community of Seaside will soon be decorated with shimmering lights, but before the tree lighting ceremony, everyone is invited to catch the annual South Walton Holiday Parade!
When and Where
The parade will go on at Seagrove Beach on Saturday, November 30. It will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 11 a.m., with the route leading west along Scenic Highway 30A toward Seaside. The parade starts near Seagrove Plaza, located at 3723 East County Highway 30A, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459.
The South Walton Holiday Parade
Last year, Coastal Living named Seaside on its list of “The 20 Best Christmas Towns in Florida,” and the parade played a big part in grabbing their attention. A festive precision of floats will make its way down the scenic highway as the Emerald Coast prepares for the Christmas season. You may see horse-drawn carriages, vintage vehicles, and more before Santa and Mrs. Clause cruise by in their bright red convertible.
Turn on the Town
At 5 p.m., everyone will gather at the Seaside Amphitheater to welcome the holiday season. Santa will be there for photos, and the children in attendance will be invited on stage to sing “Jingle Bells.” After the music, the crowd will count down around the tree until the whole city lights up.
Holiday Fun
In addition to the procession, Seaside and the surrounding communities can look forward to several other seasonal events from now until the year’s end. On Friday, November 29, the Seaside Amphitheater will screen Elf, the Will Ferrell Christmas comedy, at 7 p.m. Every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday this December, the Village of Baytowne Wharf will put on stunning light shows for their 12 Nights of Light. From December 12 through 22, The Emerald Coast Theatre Company will host a production of Miss Bennett: Christmas at Pemberley, which features characters from Jane Austin’s classic works.
You can take a holiday baking class at the Watercolor Inn & Resort on November 15, or explore the Rosemary Beach Holiday Market on November 16. On December 8, head to the water’s edge to catch the 33rd annual Holiday on the Harbor Destin Lighted Boat Parade.
