Starters and Platters
To kick things off for dinner, you can pick from an appetizing assortment of starters like the sautéed mussels with butter, bacon, and shallots. The baked oysters come with garlic parmesan butter, while the house smoked tuna dip comes with pita chips and vegetables pickled in-house. Fried fare includes the calamari with comeback sauce as well as the crab claws and the fried pickles with ranch and comeback sauce. Brotula’s also offers a selection of seafood platters like the locally caught shrimp, Dungeness crab, and king crab. Salads include a mango blackberry option with vanilla lemon dressing, and if you like soup, don’t miss the hearty seafood gumbo.
Brotula’s Entrées
When it’s time for dinner, you can enjoy delicious seafood choices like the shrimp and grits with andouille sausage and gouda, or the blackened snapper with herb-roasted potatoes. Grouper comes crusted in pecans, while cobia can be crusted in crispy crab meat. If you don’t want surf, they also offer turf options like the buttermilk-battered chicken and blackened New York steak.
Bring Your Own Fish
Since they’re surrounded by a particularly active fishing community, it’s no surprise that Brotula’s has a “hook and cook” policy. If you bring in your day’s catch, the kitchen will cook it for you for a flat rate. They can prepare your bounty either fried, seared, or blackened, with a side for each guest. Seafood always tastes rewarding when you catch it yourself, and it’s even better when you leave the cooking to the professionals.

Planning Ahead
Brotula’s Seafood House & Steamer is open seven days per week. On Monday through Thursday, they’re open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, they’re open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. If you’re going for Sunday brunch, they’re open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The restaurant is located at 210 Harbor Boulevard, Destin, Florida 32541.
