Power & Safety

When it comes to power, the Nissan Murano delivers. Once again, by default, the Nissan Murano gives you a V-6 cylinder, 3.5-liter engine, which, is the top of its class along with the Lexus RX. The rest of the competition is not even close. Coming in second, the Nissan Murano also has 260 Horsepower at 6,000 RPM. Only the Lexus RX wins slightly with 295 at 6,300 RPM while the rest of the competition lacks.

When it comes to safety, the Nissan Murano is unmatched. It is one of few vehicles in its class that comes with front and rear adjustable seatbelts. However, neither the Ford Edge, Lexus RV, nor the Toyota Highlander does this.

Design

No other vehicle comes close when you consider the materials used for the Nissan Murano. This vehicle stands tall with composite/galvanized steel while others rely on aluminum or just typical galvanized steel.

The grille for the Nissan Murano also stands out, as by default it is stocked black and surrounded with chrome.

When it comes to daytime running lights, the Nissan Murano takes care of you by stocking your vehicle with LED lights. Out of the vehicles we are comparing, only the Lexus RX does this as well. Both the Toyota Highland and Ford Edge come with standard lights instead.

The Nissan Murano is more intelligent than the competition. Press the request switch on the door while carrying your key and you can unlock/lock your car doors and open your trunk. While the Murano and the competition allow you to trigger your engine with your key nearby, there is a great difference. By default, the intelligence of the Murano reduces the risk of locking your keys inside your vehicle. Lockout Protection detects whether or not the car is unlocked/locked or if the trunk is open/closed while the key remains inside the vehicle. Hands-free functionality is also a standard Nissan Murano feature.

It’s good to know when your tire has had enough. It’s even better to know what tires specifically is having issues. The Nissan Murano does it by default. Outside of the Ford Edge, the competition does not.

The verdict is out. At an affordable price, no other vehicle offers the level of quality and standard features as the Nissan Murano. That’s right – the Nissan Murano saves you from all of those upgrades that the competition wants you to pay extra for. Would you like to get into one of your own?
