Put on Your Running Shoes & a Touch of Green to Run the Lucky Leprechaun 5K/10K

Lucky Leprechaun 5K 10K Fort Walton Beach

Throw on your cutest green outfit and head to the Landing in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. On March 11th, 2017, you can run the beautiful downtown course for the Lucky Leprechaun 5k/10k! This is a fantastic event that is not only fun, but also raises money for charity.

Lucky Leprechaun Events

There are three different events to choose from at the Lucky Leprechaun:

  • The Fun Run – a non-competitive run, done for charity and personal enjoyment
  • The 5K Run – a 3.1 mile long competitive run
  • The 10K Run – a 6.2 mile long competitive run

Pre-Run Fun at KC’s Sandbar

You can kick your feet up as you start your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with brews and great food at KC’s Sandbar, the only cool place on the only beach. The winners of the competitive races will be awarded at KC’s Sandbar as well. The festivities begin right after the Lucky Leprechaun races are completed.

Awards Ceremony at KC’s Sandbar

Awards will be presented to the winning runners for each race for both male and female groups and two other categories: Master and Grandmaster. There will be other medals awarded for the top three competitors in age groups separated by five years. Walkers of both genders can also compete for the top three medals. Everyone is welcome to participate in the raffle drawing at a low cost of $1 per ticket.

Wear Costumes

Though the 5K and 10K are competitive, this is not so much of an athletically focused event. Instead, it is a fun event for all to help celebrate St. Paddy’s Day, while raising money for a good cause. Appropriate holiday costumes are highly encouraged.

*Be aware that there will be many children present, so be sure to consider that when deciding which costume to choose.

A Great Cause

These Fort Walton Beach, Florida runs produce much-needed funding for an incredible charity organization: the Northwest Florida Track Club Fund. Their goal this year is to build a rubberized walking and jogging track at the local Ronald McDonald House. Your participation in the Lucky Leprechaun 5k/10k can help to make this goal a reality!
