Calling all friends of Fido! On Saturday, October 20, 2018, BARKtoberfest will be held at World of Beer in Destin, FL. It’s a unique spin on Oktoberfest and will include on-site adoptions from PAWS, German Beers, Oktoberfest games, and more.
A Great Selection of German Beers
BARKtoberfest will be spotlighting five different German beers for this celebration and 10% of all sales proceeds from the sale of these brews will be donated to PAWS. If you’re so inclined, World of Beer will also be accepting donations that include dog and cat food, cat litter, and toys.
Try Your Luck in Some BARKtoberfest Games
In between enjoying the delicious German beers and checking out all the adorable animals for adoption, be sure to try your luck in some of the fun BARKtoberfest games which will include a pretzel eating contest, dog-friendly pupcake eating contest, dog hoisting, stein hoisting, and more. The winners of each contest will be awarded prizes!
About The Site of BARKtoberfest
World of Beer is located in the Destin Commons which features over ninety stores on-site. World of Beer offers over 500 craft beers to choose from along with delicious tavern fare. Enjoy their Beerunch which occurs every Saturday and Sunday and features incredible drink specials. There’s also Happy Hour on Monday through Friday from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 P.M. to close.
Proceeds Of BARKtoberfest To Benefit PAWS
The Panhandle Animal Welfare Society or PAWS is dedicated to helping unwanted animals in a variety of ways. Their mission includes the following tenants according to their website:
- To offer refuge, medical care, nourishment and an opportunity for a second chance for life to unwanted animals in our community.
- To protect animals from cruelty, neglect, carelessness, and ignorance.
- To encourage and promote responsible pet ownership.
- To educate and inform the public about animal issues, and to assist in the development of short and long-term community-oriented solutions to such problems.
If you’d like to help out this worthy and caring organization, there are a wide variety of volunteer opportunities available. Plus, when you enjoy one of the five featured German beers at this year’s BARKtoberfest at World of Beer in Destin, a certain portion of the proceeds will go directly to PAWS!
