Pack up your shades and sunscreen, because the Hangout Music Festival returns to the Gulf this May! For a long weekend, awesome musicians will perform on multiple stages right by the crashing waves of Gulf Shores, Alabama. The seaside stages are just a quick drive away from Ft. When and Where
The festival takes places on the bright sandy beaches of Gulf Shores, just outside the iconic Hangout restaurant and venue. This year’s Hangout Fest runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day from May 17 to May 19. If you arrive in town early, there will be a special kickoff night on May 16, with the festivities beginning at 6 p.m.
Music on the Beach
The Hangout Festival consistently delivers a stellar lineup, and in years past, it has featured the talents of John Legend, Childish Gambino, Jack White, Wiz Khalifa, Zac Brown, and many others. It backs up its all-star lineup with dazzling attractions like the glowing Ferris wheel, fireworks, and of course, the shimmering Gulf waters.
This year’s lineup includes Travis Scott and Vampire Weekend among the Day One offerings, Khalid and Jimmy Eat World headlining Day Two, and The Lumineers, Cardi B, and others wrapping up with Day Three. For a complete list of musicians and ticket info, visit the festival’s website.

The Hangout Fest started in 2010, and injected a much-needed tourism boost into the communities surrounding Gulf Shores. This was shortly after the Deepwater Horizon spill made national news and caused summer vacationers to go elsewhere, taking their vital tourism dollars with them. From the first Hangout Fest onward, music lovers have come down in droves, and the festival is now reported to drive nearly $30 million dollars into the seaside economy each year.
