If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to run a 5K – or even to aim higher with a half-marathon – then you’ll want to learn more about the Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K on March 3 in beautiful Seaside, FL. Even better, make a whole weekend of it, kicking things off on Friday, March 1, with celebrity Chef Emeril Lagasse for Taste of the Race at Seaside Lyceum.
Taste of the Race
This exciting event takes place on the Friday of race weekend, from 7 to 9 p.m. Celebrate the upcoming run along with Chef Emeril, an enthusiastic and vocal supporter of the region and this race in particular. General Admission for Taste of the Race is $99 per person and includes cuisine from some of the Gulf’s top chefs and restaurants, complimentary wine, spirits, and beer, and live entertainment.
To “kick things up a notch,” as Emeril would say, spring for VIP tickets to the Taste of the Race Reception. For $300, you’ll enjoy VIP reception with Chef Lagasse, Chef Jim Shirley, and Chef Jim Richard, a photo opp, a special gift, hors d’oeuvres, and entrance into the main event.
The Race
This popular race is expected to fill to capacity, to register as soon as possible to secure your spot. Join the dedicated runners and a course that takes you on a scenic course along the lovely 30A. Finishers receive a Vera Bradley tote, moisture-wicking T-shirt, runner goody bag, lunch, beer, and a post-race party with live music. Half-marathon finishers also get a custom medal.
Registration fees are as follows:
- Half Marathon: $125
- 5K Adult: $95
- 5K Child (6 – 13): $50
All proceeds from the race benefit the Seaside School, a tuition-free neighborhood school serving students across Walton County.
