Nissan’s flagship GT-R exotic supercar has gone through sort of an automotive finishing school. But make no mistake about it. The supercar is still worthy of its “Godzilla” nickname.

However, the 2017 Nissan GT-R is now more suited as a supercar that you can drive daily. It now has a quieter cabin, more refined and reworked interior space, and equipped with better technology compared to previous years’ models.

2017 Nissan GT-R Power

From the start this supercar has packed power under its hood. And the 2017 model continues that tradition. The 2017 Nissan GT-R has a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine.

The engine has 565 horsepower, which is 20 more horses than the 2016 model. The 2017 Nissan GT-R also gets a boast in torque to 467 pound-feet. The 2016 model has 463 pound-feet of torque.

All of that power pushes the 2017 GT-R from zero to 60 miles per hour in an estimated 2.7 seconds.

2017 Nissan GT-R Interior

Hop inside the interior of the 2017 Nissan GT-R and a new layout is revealed.

There’s a new leather-lined interior. The supercar’s center cluster has been revised with a larger 8-inch touchscreen for operating its multimedia interface and more balanced and upgraded quality control buttons. And in the 2017 Nissan GT-R, there’s less buttons to familiarize oneself with, going from 27 buttons in the 2016 model to now 11.

A new Display Commander makes it quicker to access key functions, such as entertainment, navigation and other features. The instrument cluster has been lowered, so the driver can see better forward.

Paddle shifters that are formally fixed in the 2016 model are not mounted on the steering wheel. This is a direct result of customer feedback.

The seats in the 2017 Nissan GT-R are also wider and have more cushioned support.

2017 Nissan GT-R: Less Noise Inside & Out

When starting up “Godzilla,” technology for the 2017 Nissan GT-R now makes it possible to not make hearts jump thanks to a button that lowers engine noise by 10 decibels.

On the inside, the technology in this supercar also makes for a quieter interior where having a conversation at highway speeds is not a shouting match. This is due to a noise canceling system that builds on technology that’s found in the 2015 model, but takes it one step further with added insulation, acoustic front windshield and noise deadening elements.
